Reduced functionality using forms authentication (FBA) in SharePoint -


I have an MBA document document website that has FBA and AD authentication enabled. After creating a picture library, I feel that there is a decrease in efficiency in accessing the site through the FBA URL.

I compared the files configured with each IIS website and they are identical (additional FBA information which is necessary).

Has anyone else seen this behavior? I find it really weird

This functionality is by design. :

When you configure a zone to use form authentication, enable the Client Integration box is cleared by default. If a field is configured this way, the following changes The functionality is in:

  • Support for remote interfaces is off. This includes WebDev, SOAP, and Microsoft Office FrontPage Remote Process Call (RPC).
  • Some toolbar items are no longer visible:
    • New documents
    • Export to spreadsheets
    • Database Open with the program
    • The Explorer view option is hidden.

    • In the picture library, the following functionality has been removed:

      • Download

      • Connect to Outlook

      • The following functionality has been removed in the slide library:
        • Plate
        • Additionally, synchronizing SharePoint data with Microsoft Office Outlook is no longer working.
