statistics - Resources for learning SAS if you already familiar with R -

I would like to learn some SAS because I am interested in some industries that use it specifically. However, I suppose I do not know anything about statistical programming and do not want to get stuck with the resource. Is there a good guide for programmers with RK data experience?

Thanks, Steven

Robert A. Muszen reads your mind. He has published a free manuscript which later became a Springer Book for users of an RE SAS and SPSS. It is actually written for people who know SAS or SPSS but want to learn R Fortunately, they give examples of how to work in all three languages. If you know R and want to return to SAS, then it will work well. It started as a free manuscript, and Springer then made the meat in the whole book. Here are some links:

When you talk to people in the industry, keep in mind that many end users 'SAS' means a GUI interface in one of the SAS tools. I learned SAS programming in undergraduate school and had written programs for many years. I was a language of SAS I remember that there is a really funny cocktail discussion with a friend's wife who told me that she was learning SAS. I was excited and started talking about process statements and data propagating programming. He tried to be humble but very soon I could say that he did not know what I was moving about. He was a prediction analyzer and was using SAS prediction tool which was a GUI at the top that he was learning to use. I soon realized that when people talk about using SAS, then it's special about 'use of Microsoft'. Therefore SAS BI tools, data mining tools, etc. are worth brushing. I think that all of them have SAS language, but no one should talk about SAS programming because they are called 'SAS'.
