OK This is a fairly comprehensive question. This is my first app and I'm not sure the best way to go about it. The app is on the iPhone.
I have a restaurant. The restaurant has many different features and time to open. I currently store a restaurant in an example of NSDT (for example Nscding). Local storage is easy and I just use NSData.
I have just made an import / export function I want these two methods to "post" a restaurant on the web and "get" a restaurant from the web I know that I I can do it with NSUrlConnection and I have to work it up and down.
Although I want to be clear about this. For example, if I want to get an online listing of those restaurants that are presented and create a web interface that can also interact with the data?
That's what I'm thinking so far: A 'toString' method that will convert my class into a literal representation, then store the string on a server. This nsdata will replace online storage. Sound is appropriate?
However, I want to inquire about the quantity of restaurants and have some control over my online 'database'. What is the XML answer?
Thanks
Learn about REST, the easiest and easiest way to provide a web-based API, But some tables like Ruby gives you a relaxing interface outside the box.
Then, you have to find a way to convert your object to a rear-friendly format on the iPhone. XML and JSON are both options, but unfortunately I have not seen any code to convert to XML or JSON, which I can really recommend, because I have not tried any of them yet. But, there are some projects that can take you in the right direction. The most promising is:
