appfabric - Memcached and Velocity -

After reading the answer of Scott Hanselman, I check to use memcatch or velocity for caching distributed on a cluster of servers I am doing Does anyone detect a Microsoft Web site that uses Velocity for caching? If Microsoft is not using it, then does anyone use any of the most popular web sites it is using?

CTP of a product ( - edit good in comments It is very stupid for any important site to go live (in production) at the point - this is not a tough rule .. exceptions, for example stack overflow ). Velocity is currently in Ctp2, which is good for building proof of concept and planning for product release, but it's all about it. Once this is a supported product, I'm sure we will see a lot of uses. Follow velocity product team blog () for details.

As far as memcached vs Velocity, they are some overlapping but ultimately for different purposes. Memcached not is reliable and this documentation is clearly written by the authors. It intends to be cheap to operate and easy to operate, at fast speeds. Velocity, formal enterprise software, on the other hand is very familiar with the crowd. It is complicated with a strong API and is better for a more formal data environment.
