Our servers already have autoprotect enabled w / regular anti-virus with regular scan and updates. I have tested it and it automatically scans uploaded files in documents of libraries.
My question is, what is the additional benefit to using a specific anti-virus plugin instead of this current setup? Simultaneous, average and at least 3 different plug-ins, including one of Microsoft. None of the product details really say what it does though I think it's inside the MOSS "This file Scan "link.
Why should you get a specific SharePoint anti-virus solution for scanning inside SharePoint lists? For example, traditional virus scanners can not scan libraries and attachments in the list of documents.
This will scan the Word document every user's anti-virus of your MOS solution as your desktop when it opens with SharePoint, however, additional security on your desktop (like scanning a product of a product is slightly different Or signature of its virus may be large), the logic of installing a separate vendor anti-virus product installed on your desktop Land.
You should weigh the cost / profit ratio and ask what your company values for security.
