We currently have an inventory management system that was built at home, it works great, and we continuously innovate it are doing.
This last fall, we started selling products directly on one of our websites through a shopping cart checkout.
Our inventory management system closes a server in the office, while three websites we currently run out of an external source (only one actually sells things) outside, obviously.
See my problem here? Actually, I am trying to think that I can create a central inventory control system which allows both internal software and external websites to communicate so that the inventory is always up to date and we are not selling anything that we do not have is.
Our internal listing tracking works great and flows well, but I do not know how to implement a solid tracking system that can communicate between the two.
The software is written in Python, but it does not make any difference because I am looking for more ideas and methods how it will be implemented.
Thank you in advance for any response, and I hope that it came to understand .. I can expand.
There is a possibility that a web service interface will be disclosed on your inventory management system, which allows the transaction used by the web gives. Can be reached far from the shop With a reasonably secure VPN link or SST tunnel type arrangement, web shopper can achieve stock level, or execute searches against the order system.
Note:
-
You must also add an appropriate security layer to the inventory service, if the web shopform was compromised.
-
You must ensure that your inventory management application and server was too large to handle the load, or it can be extended easily so that it can do so.
